Kevin McCallister finds himself in a familiar situation when he gets separated from his family once again—this time at the airport. While his family flies to Florida for Christmas, Kevin accidentally boards a flight to New York City. Alone in the big city, he checks into the luxurious Plaza Hotel using his father’s credit card and enjoys a carefree holiday full of sightseeing and fun.
While exploring New York, Kevin unexpectedly runs into Harry and Marv, the same burglars he outsmarted in the first movie. Recently escaped from prison, they plan to rob a toy store on Christmas Eve. Kevin overhears their plan and decides he must stop them before they ruin Christmas for countless children.
To foil their scheme, Kevin sets up a series of creative and painful traps inside his uncle’s abandoned townhouse. As Harry and Marv attempt the robbery, they fall right into Kevin’s clever tricks. The sequence of traps is both hilarious and brutal, once again proving Kevin’s cleverness and courage.
In the end, the police arrest the burglars thanks to Kevin’s quick thinking. His family finally finds him on Christmas morning, and they reunite in the city. The film closes with a heartwarming message about love, family, and the true spirit of Christmas.
